AS 1 …it was an unforgettable show for the audience as Gary Valenciano, Mr. Pure Energy, and Martin Nievera, the Concert King, gave a spectacular performance.

From their opening number to their “come back songs” the spectators remained ecstatic.

As usual, Gary V.’s songs and dance moves were electrifying. Martin’s interpretations of songs from Broadway shows were equally captivating. His one-liners, wit and antics would often leave the audience in stitches.

Their rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” was very classy, and not to mention Gary V’s moon walk made the fans go crazy — they were on their feet and dancing.

Could you ask for more when both Gary V. and Martin can sing ballads and pop with ease? They are truly star performers.

Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera, thanked the fans for their warmest response which, they said, set them off to give their all and double treats; like a number of beautiful Filipino ballads.

What makes the show brilliant is the fusion of talents, energy and showmanship of Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera. It was an amazing combination. They complement each other.

Credit to Anna Puno, whose brainchild it is to bring together this dazzling duo into AS1 Concert.

Gary V. and Martin ended their show remarkably with the AS1 theme song, composed by Martin’s sister, Gina Tabuena.

Fans who travelled great distances just to watch them sing and perform, say: “It was well worth it.”

As the producer of the Toronto show, JREM Productions, led by Rene and Neneng Maalihan, would dub it: “It was pure, magical music entertainment offered to the Filipino community and mainstream Toronto.”

P.S. JREM Productions has regretfully announced the cancellation of Toronto Winter Extravaganza 2009. In its place will be a bigger event in the summer of 2010.
